Privacy Policy

HomeProof helps users create structured personal home records from room photos and item proof records before renewal, moving, theft, fire, flood, or claim conversations. This policy explains how HomeProof handles information you choose to use in the app.

Information You Provide

You may create home names, room names, inventory items, proof checklists, notes, report previews, readiness records, and evidence records. In local demo mode, this information stays on your device. In cloud scan mode, selected room-photo metadata and scan request information may be sent to HomeProof's backend so the app can generate editable item suggestions.

Room Analysis

When you choose Analyze Room in a cloud scan build, HomeProof sends the selected room photos, upload identifiers, room context, and scan metadata to HomeProof's backend running on Convex. A Convex action may send those selected photo payloads and prompt context to OpenAI to identify likely visible household items.

AI output is a draft. It can be incomplete or wrong. HomeProof asks you to review, edit, delete, or confirm suggested items before they become part of your inventory records. HomeProof does not use AI to provide insurance advice, legal advice, appraisals, replacement values, coverage opinions, or claim outcome guarantees.

What Is Not Inferred

HomeProof does not intentionally infer or invent purchase prices, serial numbers, purchase dates, warranty dates, exact models, coverage eligibility, or appraisal values from a room photo unless those details are visible or supplied by you. Missing information is shown as missing proof.

Purchases

Premium purchases and subscription status are handled by Apple through the App Store. HomeProof uses that App Store purchase status on device to unlock paid features such as full PDF export and higher usage limits.

Storage and Retention

Room photo payloads sent for analysis are used to return scan results and are not intended to be stored as raw image files by HomeProof after the request completes. HomeProof may retain scan request records, generated AI results, inventory-related records, support messages, usage-limit records, and security/debug logs for app functionality, support, abuse prevention, legal compliance, or until deletion is requested where available.

You should not add highly sensitive documents that are not needed for your inventory. Deleting the app or using in-app deletion controls may remove local records depending on device and backup settings. Server-side deletion requests can be sent through Support.

Tracking

HomeProof does not sell personal data and is not intended to track users across other companies' apps or websites.

Deletion and Support

You can delete local app data from within the app where available. For server-side deletion, privacy questions, or support help, contact gabriel.hengler@gmail.com and include "HomeProof deletion request" in the subject line.

App Privacy Summary

For a cloud scan build, App Store privacy answers should disclose user content such as selected photos or videos and other inventory content used for app functionality. HomeProof does not use this data for tracking.
